    This recipe has all my friends asking every year for more! I make a batch just for myself. lol I love that the different chocolates in this recipe add so many dimensions to the flavor of this cookie. The cherries are over the top and surprise everyone who eats them. Thank you for this awesome recipe for the holidays!

    These cookies are chocolate heaven. I have a strong tolerance for sweets so you might need a glass of milk. The recipe was easy to follow, loved that it was mixed by hand, and it helped me clear out some ingrediants that had been in my pantry for awhile. The cookies were soft and gooey as promised. They were exactly what I was looking for.

    don't get me wrong, i love me some chocolate. but these are just too much. i followed the recipe, except i put my dough in the fridge to bake the next day. my dough was so runny, i figure it needed it. my cookies did not come out flat like the picture. it's very fudge-y and much too sweet. i wanted so much to love them.

    I must have been lucky. I followed this recipe with 2 exceptions and they came out great! (1Left out the cherries (kids don't like them and substituted an additional handful or 2 of chocolate chunks; and (2left out the cinnamon since there were so many comments about that. They are delicious! They did not come out flat at all. I think the parchment paper and using a small scoop to put the batter on the sheets is absolutely key! Good luck!

    my friend made these for a cookie swap 4 years ago and they are now affectionately known as the "chocolate crack cookies." she omitted the nuts and cherries, but there were so good!

    skip the dried cherries and add toasted hazelnuts!! high quality chocolate (a MUST for this recipe deserves some hazelnuts!

    i also added 1/2 tsp of baking powder to help them keep them from pancaking. also, don't let your batter get too warm- any cookie batter doesn't work as well when it's warm.

    a note on the cinnamon... it adds a hint of flavor, you probably couldn't put your finger on it if you didn't know. i left it in this time (mostly because i couldn't remember if i did last time, but next time i probably won't w/ the hazelnuts. i could see how it would be great w/ the nuts or with plain chocolate though.

    overall, it's a great densely chocolate cookie that begs to be eaten warm with an ice cold glass of milk.

    I would make them slightly smaller than recommended and bake about 13 minutes. I thought the cinamon gave them an odd taste. next time i will leave it out. I think this would also be good if you used cayanne pepper instead of cinamon for a mexican flare or substituted peanut butter chips for choc. chips at the end. My friends husband told me these were the best cookies he's ever had.

    These cookies definitely had a good taste but were lacking in ingredients to make them cookie like. I know how to cook and followed the recipe to the tee and the cookies flattened out thinner than pancakes. I added about 1.5 cups of flour to them and they were still pretty flat. They tasted good but they were not cookies.

    This is probably the most chocolatey cookie I've ever eaten. I did remove the cinnamon (my fam doesn't like cinammon with chocolate and replace it with a tablespoon of espresso powder. I also added just a bit of baking powder as someone suggested. The cookies were simple to make and came out great. Make sure to let them cool before trying to move them around too much. I found they needed a couple of extra minutes in the oven. As for their reception, the reviews from my friends and family were mixed. Some people loved them and couldn't stop eating them. Others could only eat a bite or didn't like them at all. This is a very rich cookie with intense flavor. However, everyone at our cookie party agreed that this one was the best.

    Absolutely love these cookies. I get dried sour cherries and they taste amazing with the richness of the chocolate. Definitely a chocolate lovers cookie.

    I agree with a few others that the cinnamon pretty much ruins it for me. I made the first batch without and loved them, then the second time made them couldn't remember and put it in. We ended up throwing most of them away. I feel like the cinnamon totally takes away the flavor of the chocolate and but you can't really taste a true cinnamon flavor either...just tastes odd. Then again I'm one of those people who doesn't like nutmeg in my savory cream sauces either...just doesn't taste right to me. Anyway, that is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Otherwise they are fabulous!!!
