Absolutely delicious! Super easy to make and my hubby who's from Yucatan gave it the seal of approval!

This soup is traditionally made with the breast of a rotisserie chicken, thought of pointing this out since I am Mexican and I lived in the Yucatán Peninsula for over 4 years.

I hope you all enjoy the twist

The soup was good. Used 2 limes with the zest rather than 3 limes and that was plenty of flavor.
    Will make again.

This soup was delicious! Full of authetic Mexican flavors. I've had this soup in Mexico and it is as close to the real thing as you're going to get. I skipped the fried tortillas and used store bought tortilla chips to make it easier.

It has protein, veggies, great flavor. I was shocked with the flavor in this soup! Could make a meal in itself.

I've made this several times and each time it was simple to make and tasted great. Yesterday I was reading a cookbook on Yucatan cooking and found the "original" recipe for sopa de lima. Apparently lima is not a lime but a type of lemon. The author recommended using a meyers lemon if the central american lima was not available. Sounds kind of interesting and I'll have to try it soon.

This is outrageously good and very easy. I substituted turkey tenderloins for the chicken and used regular oregano, and even so, the results were excellent.

We also discovered Lime Soup in Cancun and I just had to find a recipe for it. This was pretty accurate. I used two tomatoes and cut my vegetables pretty coarsely. The only thing I would do differently next time is add more heat. I seeded the jalepeno, but wish I had saved some for some spice. Otherwise, this was great! My husband loved it!
