I really enjoyed this recipe the first time I made it, when it ran in the back of the November 2007 Family Circle magazine. I wonder how many other of Sandra Lee's Semi-Homemade recipes are only semi-original??

My tartlets were not so pretty so I decided to make this as a full sized tart.
I brought it to a holiday celebration and it was a hit. Look forward to making it again.

It tasted better than it looked. They are cute, buttttttttttttttttt not as eye-appetizing. Once I convinced everyone to try one (please? pretty please? they kept going in for more!
Very semi home-made, fooled everyone with this recipe. I actually had my future mother in law going with "i made the pie crust from scratch" she knows I was only teasing.

Good tasting. Needs pizazz or a better garnish

The liquid ingredients were way off; I wasted eggs, cream, and herbs. Look for gloria in these messages, she has the correct measurements Spray the muffin pan or you'll never get them out in one piece. They really did taste great though. My brother in law hid some of them so he could snack later.

We tried these on Thanksgiving and they were a total disaster. I believe the proportions for the recipe were wrong. The crust got stuck to the bottom of he non stick muffin pans and got burned!

The measurements on here are WRONG- not even the proportions are correct....! WTF!? The rest of the recipes from this episode appear to be consistent with the program, but this one is SERIOUSLY OFF...

    Correct measurements from program:

    1/2 stick of butter
    1 Vidalia onion
1 box refrigerated pie crust she uses a fluted biscuit cutter to divide into rounds
    1 large egg (NOT 3!
    1/3 cup half-and-half (NOT 1and a 1/3!
1/2 of a packet of golden onion soup mix (NOT A WHOLE ONE!
1 t fines herbes (NOT 1T ! --> had a hard time finding these- Kroger has them- though I opted to make my own blend from fresh herbs- 1 part each chervil, chives, parsley, & tarragon
1/2 cup shredded Monterrey Jack cheese

The correct order to fill the cups is about 1/2 teaspoon of onions, then the onion soup mixture (about a teaspoon or so- they should actually cover the onions completely, and then about 7-10 shreds of cheese.

I watched Sandra Lee make these on tv today and she does change the recipe for the show. She uses 1/3 cup half-and-half, but she also uses only 1 egg. I follow the recipe on the website (1 1/3 c half-and-half and 3 eggs and they come out perfect! Everyone expects me to bring these to our holiday gatherings. They are delicious!

I watched Sandra Lee's show this morning, and she did use 1 and 1/3 cup of half and half. I can't wait to make these for Thanksgiving.....
