This was SUCH a great recipe and VERY easy to do. It only takes about 10 minutes or so. I used multi-grain ciabatta bread instead of a croissant. It doesn't get messy and holds together very well. I also used a George Foreman grill because I don't have a panini maker and it seemed to work really well. I served it with soup to my in-laws and they loved it! You know it's a good recipe when the in-laws like it!

No changes are neccessary to this recipe. I don't have a panini press, so just heated up a tablespoon of butter in a skillet, added the sandwiches, topped with another skillet and weighted it down with a can of tomaotes. Perfect!!!

This was awesome! The croissant gets so crunchy and the buttery flavor really comes out! Still trying to figure out if one reviewer's "improvement" to the sandwich would be to use a hard roll from Walmart, was a joke or serious! Too funny (or sad? Use a croissont for sure!!!! Thanks Giada

Nice sandwich. Very good with a homemade soup.
Um, Madeline, your Walmart sandwich is a completely different recipe. I always think it's strange when someone rates a recipe on this site and in their critique lists a completely different recipe as a suggested change. It's like saying "This minestrone soup was too salty, I'd recommend using chicken, enchilada sauce, cheese and tortillas...rolling them all up and baking them for 45 minutes."

I've seen this particular episode a couple of times, and always wanted to make this panini. So, I finally did and it was so good. A little on the salty side, but that's just what I like! : Two thumbs up!

This was an awesome sandwhich, absolutely loved it and was hard to put down and stop. Who doesn't like salami and cheese? Fresh arugala from the farmers market for 50 cents. Yummy.

This was a great start to my "Giada Experience!" The flavors of the cheeses, the salami, along with arugla all on a croissant were fantastic! Those who keep going on about how it's "too greasy"...HELLO, it's a croissant with salami and cheese! What did you expect? Giada even mentioned on the show how it doesn't need any mayo or any other fatty condiment since the ingredients were heavy enough. This is definitely not an everyday sandwich, so when you make it, savor it!

I did not like this recipe at all. It is so greasy, croissants are very greasy, so is salami. The flavors are all together too strong. Where is your Itallian style Giada??? Italians would never eat this. Replace the croissant by a round hard roll from Wallmart (they are really good, the cheese by Fontina and Parmesan, a slice of prociutto instead of salami, 2 slices tomato, 2 slices of red onion, some cracked black peper and fresh basil leaves. Believe me, much better in taste and much healthier.
