I just made the filling and, oh my goodness, everyone LOVED it...
They begged me to make another cake the very next day.
This is a great, quick and easy recipe for filling, and it made me feel like a more experienced cake-maker! :-

This cake is easy to make. It's delicious. I added raspberries and powdered sugar to the top. The raspberries give it a little more sweetness. I will make this again.

I just watched this episode and was laughing SO hard at Paula's facial expressions. She KNEW this recipe was going to taste horrible but made it anyway! LOL! Poor thing. I got sick just watching her eat it!

My family tried this recipe and thought it was ok but nothing special. We weren't a big fan of the filling. It needed to be a little sweeter.

I've made this cake twice now and I(and many of my friends and family find it to be oddly addictive. On the surface, it doesn't appear special but once you start eating you can't put your fork down. I find myself slicing off small bites everytime I walk through the kitchen. My niece dubbed it "crack" cake.
I did use cream cheese instead of shortening and also added about 1tsp of lemon juice to the filling. It is definately awesome. Can't wait to try it with chocolate cake as well as banana cake. This recipes a keeper!
