Brined this bird like the recipe said except I used 1/2 cup less salt because I didn't have a big enough pot for 8 quarts of liquid. I then compensated the lack of h2o by adding ice to the container I cooled the bird in. Was very tasty and juicy.

Toady was the first time that I hosted Thanksgiving dinner, everyone loved the Turkey. I soaked the it overnight in the brine in the fridge. I was kind of nervous b/c there were no user ratings when I got the recipe and the fact that no one in my family every uses a brine and they weren't sure how it was going to taste. It turned out perfect! For a 26 year old man who only usually cooks on the grill to be able to pull it off, it must be farily easy. Thanks!

I added some fresh rosemary and sage to the receipe and brined my turkey for 36 hours, then placed into the turkery fryer. Everyone at work said it was the best turkey they had ever tasted.
