I entertain A LOT for the same group of friends. My husband and I spoil them with food at our parties. Over the years they have come to expect to be WOWED and they don't get too excited any more. But when I put these out - OH MY! Word went around quickly and they disappeared in minutes. Now, when my friends have parties they ask me to bring these. Time consuming but simple - definately worth the time!

What an interesting and delicious way to use grits! I served this as an appetizer at Christmas and received rave reviews from my family. Also, you can make it ahead of time, I made the entire recipe the day before, including the broiling, then just warmed them in the oven right before serving. It worked out great.

I thought at first, way too much mayonnaise and I am a lover of mayonnaise but 2 cups! Then, after preparing and cooking this recipe--oh, my goodness, you cannot even really tell the mayonnaise is in there. It is totally awesome! I can't describe the taste! It is elegant and wonderful! My husband is not a mayonnaise eater at all and he lOVED it and so did all 3 of my children!

Someone asked about "what shrimp?". I think it's a typo or perhaps there's another version of the recipe where shrimp is used instead of mushrooms. I could see that as a possibility -- little shrimp toasts -- YUM!!

Anyway, I haven't made this recipe, but it sure looks GOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!! Thanks Paula :

I saw this episode on television today and immediately sent my husband to the store to pick up the items. My 8,3 and 1 year old sons loved this dish! It came out very well, it was quite simple to make and I am happy that I had something to add to the dinner menu. I was stumped on what to cook with chicken but you fixed that!

    Thank you Paula!
