I was not a huge fan of this cookie. I followed the recipe exactly. The sugars did not quite melt into the cookie and left it a bit grainy.

These are so simple and easy to make, and I love the texture, the chocolate is so rich and smooth and the nuts add great crunch. I love that they aren't greasy like all those other cookies that require 1 cup of butter. The whole wheat pastry flour adds more fiber so that's a plus!

The cookie base is excellent, sweet and moist. I modified it by using 1/3 cup milk chocolate chips, 1/3 peanut butter chips, 1/3 cup walnuts.

My doctor told me she wanted me to lose 10 lbs. so I started cooking healthier. I decided to try Ellie's recipes and was instantly hooked. Her recipes are so good that you forget they are healthy. I have lost 20 lbs. just by using her recipes. And here I thought I would have to give up desserts! Wow, this is the best diet I've ever been on! And by the way, the cookies were fabulous!

these cookies are awesome. a couple notes: i sifted the whole wheat flour 3 times, per a suggestion on this board. made a difference. also, i subbed semi-sweet chocolate chips instead of the milk chocolate, and it was great. also used walnuts instead of pecans, simply because i had them on hand and i like them better. these are delicious cookies - very chocolatey & rich. you'd never guess they were "healthy" in the least. great job ellie!

Suoer easy to make and boy are they yummy!!!!!!!!!!!! Crunchy and chewy both and the larger chopped chocolate pieces were heaven. My only complaint is that the recipe does no make enough cookies. Next time I will double.

These cookies are amazing!!!! I added like a tbsp of butter and added like 2 tbsp of nutella!!! mmmmmmmmmm... Instead of using pecans I used slivered almonds and I toasted them. They are super chocolaty!! They taste like brownies but in a cookie that is crispy in the outside and chewy inside. And yes they were done before the 12 minutes. I definitely will be making these cookies again and often!

Great recipe. Store didn't have pecans, so I got slivered almonds instead. Was still delicious!
