To answer the other reviewers question regarding how Tyler cut the roast and portion size...I plan to serve this for 5 for Christmas, but want some left over. I will use a 4 rib roast and I saw Emeril make one and when he cut it, he cut the meat horizontally off the ribs first - in one chunk. Then, he sliced it to allow more servings he said. That's the way I intend to cut mine because I have made it the other way and it was too hard to try to slice for several people that way.

I made this prime rib last Christmas and it was fantastic!!! (YOU WILL NOT REGRET SERVING FOR GUESTS!!!! We cannot wait to make it again this year. As was previously mention, this recipe under Ultimate is not entirely correct(go to How to Boil...Roast Prime Rib of Beef with Horseradish Crust...the 5 star recipe...Some modifications I made last year...replace salt with 1/4c NOT 1/2c..it will still be salty enough...next I cut the pepper down to 1/8c. Finally, because I do not like horseradish, I replaced it with dijon mustard. We enjoyed it so much last year that we made it again for New Years Eve. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Careful with the salt. My result was good, but far too salty. Great garlic and herb flavors.

A wonderful meat for any holiday. I loved the horseradish taste, it was different and very good.
