Yummy, yummy onions in my tummy! I have made these several times and they are always a huge hit. They work well both on the grill or in the oven and are delish with anything from burgers to Paula's Burbon Beef Tenderloin.

I tried this yesterday in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 45 minutes, and the onions were still hard, almost raw after 45 minutes. I cranked up the temperature to 400 and baked them another hour and that softened them up,however the broth did not taste like French Onion Soup. All was not lost, however.I cut up the last onion into small pieces, put it with the broth(more like butter, imho in a pot, added a can of beef consomme and had some fantastic onion soup!
