I was doing a candle party this past weekend and the hostess had her daughter make these for some of the snacks at the party - She was preparing them while I was setting up... The prep time was not at all difficult and the end result was great - The hosts daughter use Grape Jelly, but I think they would be much better made with a thicker preserve in a flavor like raspberry or strawberry. The jelly was a little slick, so the sandwiches kind of slipped apart as you were eating them. I would recommend them to anyone who loves PB and J - You might also want to use ritz crackers rather than saltine to give a more buttery flavor. Will have to make some for myself- But beware - You may want to eat the entire pan!

I made these for a superbowl party, and we couldn't stop eating them! The contrast of sweet and salty (from the crackers is fantastic. I added extra jam, as I didn't feel as though it'd be enough. Be sure to freeze them for awhile for easy cutting.

These went over very well at a superbowl party. Everyone got so excited when I explained what they were. They were quite easy to make, tasted delicious, but were a bit rich/heavy due to being made with so much butter. A few modifications: I used less butter than called for in both the peanut butter and chocolate topping layers and it was still fine (next time I would probably cut the butter in a few more places too. Also, I used unsalted roasted peanuts as I felt like the saltines would be salty enough. I think both of those changes worked out well.

One of my all time favorites is pb & j and these bars don't disappoint. They're easy to make and disappear fast.IThey're great to make when you're going to a function that has both children and adults, the kids love em and the adults find them nostalgic. I only wish the recipe made a 9x13.

The ratio of sweet and salty was very off. I would have preferred to not have made this.
