These were GREAT!! My family loved them. I love how we don't need to use canned sloppy joe mix or ketchup in this recipe. I used ground turkey instead of beef. We'll definitely be adding this to the rotation. Thanks Ellie!

I loved it!! I usually add ketchup to my sloppy joes but this seriously did not need anything else! I excluded the molasses and the red wine, just because I didn't have any and honestly didn't feel like going out to the store. I replaced the ground beef with ground turkey and I did add in diced green peppers along with the red peppers, I diced up some mushroom as well as adding in some red pepper flakes for a little extra heat (lots of color!. It left a nice burn...my boyfriend loved it. I think this one will be added to the weekly rotation! So easy and delicious.

Wonderful flavor . Did substitute jalepeno pepper for small can of green chilies . Yum!

This was good, but lacked a bit of the tangy flavor I'm used to from sloppy joes. We added a little bit of ketchup, though, and it was great!

Very flavourful and filling. I didn't have hamburger buns so I toasted some sandwich bread and topped it with the beef, and ate it with a knife and fork.

This is one our favorite Ellie Krieger recipes. I can't count the number of times I've made this. It's a great go to weeknight simple dinner. I always use a whole jalapeño, seeds and all but we are from Texas and love flavorful food. Only problem is, my kids can't eat just one so I usually double the recipe.

Followed the recipe exactly. It is tasty and flavorful.. My husband and I enjoyed it. We used organic ingredients. I don't know if it makes a difference but this recipe is a keeper.

Did not add jalapeno and forgot the red pepper, so maybe I missed a little flavor, but otherwise the recipe was very satisfying. I will try it again and follow the directions more carefully next time to add a bit more dimension and spice. Otherwise, a very healthy and satisfying alternative to traditional sloppy joe!

Very, Very Good. my calculations show that a meat/bean portion would be 180 calories. I like the bean idea too, strech a dollar just a bit farther. Super easy to make as well. TY.....
