My husband made this for us last night following the recipe exactly. I asked that he use only 1/3 of the jalapeño since I don't like my food too spicy. It was very good, I liked the texture. All of the ingredients made it seem more healthy and very tasty. We will make this again, it didn't take much time so that's good for busy nights.

My husband loved it and so did I! I did not do the beans and I only did A splash of molasses. I am not much of a sweet eater. It turned out perfect.

Beans have no place in Sloppy Joes! Otherwise okay.

This was great! I followed the original concept but my family is vegan so I used the vegan Boca Crumbles and for the beans I cooked 1/2 cup of dry lentils and added all of them. The lentils kept the consistency the same as the crumbles (similar to ground meat. I did add about a half teaspoon of chili powder and 1/4 tsp of cumin. Beyond that, I followed the recipe exactly.

This was very flavorful and the entire family went back for more. My family includes my husband and my parents and they all said they want this to be the go-to recipe from now on. No more canned sauces! I also think this would be good with a mixture of shredded mushrooms and lentils as the "meat".

Thanks Ellie for a wonderful recipe!

I have made this a few times before. This time I remembered to buy a jalapeno. Takes the yumminess to a whole new level!!

My husband and I love this recipe! I don't include the beans though...still delicious!! We cook some in with our scrambled eggs in the morning too.

What an excellent recipe. It will be my new goto Sloppy Joe recipe. It was quick and delicious! The beans surprised me as I never put beans in my SJ recipes. They were a good addition. I did not use the molasses, instead of the lean burger I used ground turkey and I also used no sodium tomatoes products! Initially I was concerned about the jalapeno but, it was just the perfect amount!
