They were a little salty for our liking and didn't rise as much as we would have liked...but they tasted really good (other than the saltiness

I gave this 5 stars because the FLAVOR was right on. I used scallions instead of chives to save a trip to the market. The biscuits did not rise like I wanted, and my dough was much dryer than Ina's was on the show. I swear I followed the recipe instructions very closely. I want to try them again and use new baking powder since I had to use the bottom of the tin - it had been in there a while. Also, I will do my best not to work the dough so much. I get nervous with dealing with dough and overdo it sometimes. My husband LOVED them and said I was being overly critical. Ha!

Followed the recipe exactly, but they just seemed a bit too floury or bready tasting. Love Ina's recipe, so was surprised by this one.

These were outstanding!
Even my carb-o-phobic husband threatened to eat the entire batch!
I have to admit that I followed suit from another reviewer and added a cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Yummm, chedda-chive biscuits!

I loved the biscuits, but I couldn't taste the chives. Next time, I'll use scallions. They have more intense flavor.

I am not a chive fan, so when I made this recipe to go along with my lamb stew I added parm cheese and herbs de provence and they were delicious. Then on another occasion I tried adding lemon zest, 1/4 sugar and fresh rosemary and served them with jam and honeybutter for a tea party and they were a hit! I also tried dill and lemon zest to use a bread for smoked salmon and cream cheese tea sandwiches. The possibilities are endless! Next I am going to try lime zest, chili powder and cheddar cheese to serve with tortilla soup! Ina is the best!

I'm a bread baker, and have never made biscuits. These were so easy to make, that I will never buy refrigerator biscuits again.
I can see this being a fast way to have bread with soup, when you don't have time to wait for yeast to rise.
Next time, I'll try adding cheese.
One thing, I'm going to reduce the baking time by a few minutes. Other than that, they're a hit at home.

Made a mini version cutting them with a scalloped cutter. Served them with Pasilla Chile marmalade, they were just out of this world. Buttery and spicy. Just the best!
