This was AMAZING!! Read the other reviews & made sure to use low sodium soy sauce. I don't like canola oil either, so I purchased Wok Oil & Sesame Oil. That is definately the way to go. I took another's advice & cooked the meat in batches so it would crisp up.I also doubled the sauce recipe b/c we like extra to sop up w/ the side of Jasmine rice. And I did lightly saute a chopped red pepper & vidalia onion then added it to the dish at the very end for texture & color. While it had a kick, I will definately add more chili sauce next time as we like extra spice. This is a very adaptable recipe & easy to make. Try it, you will not be disappointed!!

In the words of Guy Fieri himself 'THIS WAS MONEY!!!!' This was one of the best dishes i have ever made! The grocery store didn't have flank steak, so i used skirt steak. i also wanted my young son to enjoy this dish (which he did so i opted for a sweet chili sauce versus a hot one. WOW. The flavors were surprisingly amazing considering how fast i was able to whip this up! i served this over garlic and shallot jasmine rice and it was awesome. This dish will definitely become apart of my regular menu. Next time i made cut the ginger in half, add garlic and snow peas or broccoli. Thanks Guy!!!

My youngest son saw this on TV and said Mom you have to make.I made this this evening for dinner for my family of six, 5 men and me, the only girl. I made steamed jasmine rice b/c I had forgotten to purchase a couple of the other ingredients for the pork fried rice from this same episode. I also used flap meat as my local store did not have tri-tip and flank steak was a bit expensive, especially for the amount I had to prepare. There was not a drop left on the platter. I have made several of Guy's recipes and all are great but so far this one is the best. I will make this again. Guy keep on giving us great recipes.

Very good needs some tweeking. I would suggest reducing the amount of soy sauce and hoisen sauce and using more tangerine. The second time I made this, I also added garlic and red pepper flakes when cooking the beef. It makes a good amount of sauce so adding some veggies would make it a great stir fry!

This is a great recipe! It is not too hard, and my entire family loved it! (When my entire family likes a dish, I know I've hit the jackpot! I did add more citrus juice to the sauce, and I added a little Tabasco because I like spicy food. This is a new favorite recipe!

This was fantastic. It has the right amount of heat and was just as good as left overs. We didn't make the rice he made with the dish on the show, we just used white rice but it was great. We will be making this again.
