This is not a German Pancake in terms of the House of Pancakes. It is cakey, dense, and almost like a cornbread. Be sure this is what you want to eat before you make this recipe; we were unpleasantly surprised.

Either I did something wrong or I was making the wrong recipe. Mine turned out like a cake (baked too long?, similar to a cornbread without the corn. I was hoping for the German pancakes like at The Original Pancake House.

Delicious! I've modified the recipe to use half whole wheat, half AP flour and substitute buttermilk for the whole milk with fantastic results.

My family loves recipe! My daughter gobbles it up. The pancake is so moist and tender with delectable crispy edges.

We sometimes substitute Boysenberry syrup or honey for the Maple syrup with excellent results. We also skip the powdered sugar.

Don't miss out on this fabulous recipe!

We made this for dessert tonight, and it was incredible!!! The pancake had such great flavor. The berries complemented the dish so well. We added low fat vanilla yogurt ice cream to our second pieces, and it was even more delicious. This recipe will not be lost.

The GF pancakes were fantastic the only complaint is that I have cooked almost all of your recipes. For those of you that have not watched or cooked his meals your really missing out. The recipes come out perfect and are easy to make and prepare and of course frugal at the market. Thanks Dave but give us more !

I've never eaten a pancake that was so thick so I was afraid it would be too heavy, but it wasnt! Very light and lightly sweet.. just perfect.

This simply delicious dish was an easy crowd pleaser. Make sure to make the entire recipe of the berry topping (or maybe some extra. We tried to use a 12 oz. bag of berries the first time and they were gone in seconds.

I've made lots of German style pancakes before but none like this. While most usually puff up and then collapse, this one is more like a cake. Although it wasn't what I expected it was really tasty. I thickened the fruit with a bit of cornstarch and water. This would be a great brunch recipe and also a great "shortcake" for strawberry (or other fruit shortcake!
