Very good. Used a braided day old italian bread from my bakery. This was wonderful. My family is picky when it comes to french toast I don't generaly like french toast but this is awesome. Could not stop eating it. The bananna syrup was wonderful this will be a family favorite.

I made this using leftover hamburger buns (no need to find day old bread - just use what you have at home and it was delicious! The syrup was a great alternative to regular store bought syrup. Will definitely make again when I have leftover buns!

I just made the syrup. It tasted very good the only complaint I would have is that it didn't get very thick. But that is probably my fault and it's supposed to be like that.

When I made this recipe, I substituted orange juice for the water in the syrup and was glad that I did because it gave another dimension of flavor besides the molasses which is not my fav. Tasted very good.

I am with you Christian, Debra has a mean spirit. I guess she will have her own show since she knows so much. I loved the French Toast. I made it this morning and my husband loved it. We had some chicken and apple sausage with it. Very Good. I had never put flour in the eggs, and I will from now on. Thank you Sandra If Debra dislikes Sandra so much, why is she still watching the show and cooking her stuff?????

It amazes me how nasty some of you are. If I never read another of your reviews it will be too soon Debra. Some people don't like the bread to soak it up, and if you do then you should be "sophisticated" enough to adjust the recipe to your liking. Recipes are meant as a springboard, not an absolute.Go lay on the couch and eat some bon bons.

Toasting the bread in the oven prior soaking it in the batter creates a barrier that prevents the custard batter from adequately soaking into the bread. Despite her constant boasting that her ideas are "brilliant" and "so smart," Sandra Lee just demonstrates over and over that a She doesn't know how to cook, and b She has such an unsophisticated palate that truly can't taste the difference between the real thing and her cheap knock-offs. Case in point: her revolting recipe for lasagna made with ketchup and cottage cheese. Blech!

$2.50 isn't expensive and this entire meal for 4 or more people would cost less than $5.. Bunch of babies
