I made the Collucci Bros. meatloaf, my husband has now requested it at least once a week, better than my family recipe that I have used for 40 years..Very tasty & moist, just wished they had included the recipe for the brown gravy.

I eagerly watched this episode last month, as we were going to Cape Cod in July. I took down the info, and was ready to try this diner in person. When we arrived, it was closed. Foodnetwork-It is fine to still this episode, but you should warn readers that the place is no longer in business!

I don't want crunch in meatloaf, but they add good flabor. I also added mushroom duxelle.

I made this for my brother-in-law who is a very fussy eater and never touches carrots on his plate, much less think of eatting them--by time he realized they were in there he was already hooked. He raved about it.

I picked this recipe b/c I saw it made on "Thowdown with Bobby Flay". While the episode was delightful and always a full house at the restaurant for the meatloaf, it just may be a regional thing. I followed the recipe in fulll but next time may not include the carrots or at least will lessen the amount and willl shred as well so they blend in more with the mixture. Also, as suggested earlier, would def. add the gravy for this recipe. It was a big part of the meatloaf in total per the show and s/b included here. I would also add a bit more salt and pepper. But, the basics are here for a very good meatloaf otherwise and I plan to work with it another time or two to get it to my personal taste. It is moist and to my surprise, the plain ketchup coating(smothered it with a store brand was perfect. My wife liked the meatloaf too but agreed a little tweaking would help on the spices and carrots. If the show is repeated, I suggest you give it a watch. A delightful episode!!

If you like a classic homestyle meatloaf that the kids will eat--then this is it. Tried this recipe last night and my hubby and son loved it. It does not bang with big flavors, but it is good comfort food like grandma used to make. Kids will eat this! The ketchup glaze was very good. Other reviewers did not find it flavorful, I made it exactly according to the recipe and I thought it was just fine. A must try for anyone with kids! I am anxious to try Bobby Flay's recipe too.

This is a not a cut-down to all reviewer's who've made it and loved it. I prefer more exotic tastes than simple down-home American, but the real reason I felt compelled to write somehting is because of the review I just read where one reviewer thought it appropriate to bag on Bobby Flay and his professional career.

Being a huge fan of Bobby Flay, I just had to say something. First of all, I agree that this recipe doesn't sound all that appealing, again, totally relative to your own tastes, but I truly don't believe that Bobby has anything to do with finding the contestants for these throw-downs. In fact, I would bet money that they are found by the producers who have obviously conducted some sort of poll with the citizens of a particular city to find out the hot-spots, or the most famous restaurant foods/cooks in their region.

These people are celebrities in their own rite in their own towns. Some of these places may not have the cultural diversity that some of us are used to and therefore there taste-buds are different. What's great to them, might be completely inedible to us. Don't bag on Bobby, but read through the recipe and based on ingredients, decide if you'll like it. There are obviously many out there who love this recipe, that's all and their opinions are not wrong. I do think the brown gravy should be included in the recipe however as that's how it was served on the show.

I followed this recipe TO THE LETTER. So all of you posters that add this... or subtract that...or exchange these ...can scroll off. This was more bland than "The English Patient". Maybe tons more salt and fresh-cracked pepper would help. Paprika? Chili Powder? Well-tilled dirt? Bobby...where do you get these "Experts" from? I remember the "Philly Cheesesteak" guy whose secret ingredient was Cheez_Whiz. Have you no professional pride?

I was kind of worried about the carrots, but they added some really nice texture and sweetness. I will definitely be making this again! Moist and tasty.
