I was alittle concerned that my family wasn't going to like this because of the carrots and no ketchup in the body of this meatloaf..both my husband and my son LOVED this recipe..to get an excellent in this house, it really has to be good. In fact, my husband said it was the best meatloaf he has ever had EVER. I got two EXCELLENTS--WOW!!!

I made this for the first time. I did add extra bread crumbs and removed the crust from the bread prior to soaking in the cold water. Add some ketchup to the batter. It had great taste.

My wife and I saw this recipe defeat Bobby Flay on "Throwdown" and just had to make it. We found it to be quick and easy to make, and really delicious. We followed the recipe exactly, (as we always do with "1st time" recipes but may add garlic to the sauteing veggies as others have suggested. Note that we did NOT use a loaf pan, opting for the suggested free-formed loaf on a larger open pan; this makes for much more "crust" and coverage for the glaze. We are converts, and will not use loaf pans again for meat. Delicious recipe, true comfort food when served with warm gravy.

After seeing the show, my wife and I came directly to the site, and looked up the brothers recipe. We had all the ingredients already in house. Fast prep, and beautiful outcome. Loaf formed a delicious crunchy crust, further highlighted by one of the moistest, favorable meat loafs we've ever eaten. 10+

This is really good but takes a while. I add extra Tabasco and carrots and also serve it with chicken gravy and mashed potatoes. The ultimate comfort food...

The only change I made was to cut back on the Worchester, otherwise and new family classic!

THE TASTE OF THIS MEATLOAF WAS REALLY GOOD, ALTHOUGH THE MEATLOAF ITSELF WAS A LITTLE "MUSHY", A QUOTE FROM MY HUSBAND. i THINK WE WOULD OF BOTH PREFERRED A BETTER CONSISTANCY.

This meatloaf is amazing! This showdown was one of my favorites. Loved watching the process of the brothers making their wonderful dish. Good job!
