Love, love, love this recipe!! It's become one of my regular dishes. The only adjustment I made to it was using 1 and half tablespoon of the Italian seasoning instead of 2 tbs.

This is a fabulous receipe that makes a delicious meal. Shredded cheese and a dollap of sour cream on top is a great suggestion, but alone this will soon become a favorite recipe of a dear friend who loves goulash. The fact that is is quick and easy is a plus.

This is very similar to what my Nana used to make, but called 'American Chop Suey'. lol My husband loves this dish. Like another poster had said, I also use Chicken Stock instead of the water (homemade stock....yum. Hubby likes his serving topped with shredded sharp cheddar, also. I like to throw in about a T. of cumin after the meat has had the grease removed from it. Gives it a nice, deep flavor.

Just made this and it's sooo good!!!!! Instead of adding 3 cups of water, I added chicken stock for extra flavor. I also sprinkled cheddar cheese on top before serving. YUM!!!! Can't wait to make it this winter, perfect for a snowy night.

Cindy....Paula gives her formula for House Seasoning...mix the spices together and store it in a container..then when her recipe calls for her "House Seasoning" you add it to taste!!!! You should have taken a few minutes to rethink adding the whole amount...it's common sense not to add all that salt!!!! Don't be so quick to jump the gun!!! Take it slow next time and you won't be disappointed!!!!!

I make this dish quite a bit for me and my hubby, I've probably made this about 10+ times...he adores it! I think his favorite part is that it makes so much which guarantees there will always be a bit in the freezer for a late night snack and lunches too. I hear about it when the freezer stock is gone...
I used low sodium soy sauce and don't add most of the salt till the end and it comes out great every time. Seasoning the beef or turkey with salt while it's cooking is still a must but you can adjust the salt for those of you who are cutting back. I have also added sauteed carrots and bell pepper to get veggies in and it was great! This is my go to recipe for something comforting and yummy to eat!

The 1 cup of salt is way overbearing. I will try this again but defintely cut back on the house seasoning

I made this recipe but cut it in half since it was just for two people and it was so delicious. The only alteration I made was to the soy sauce in which I used Worchestire instead. I will definitely make this again!
