This recipe was so easy to prepare. I have made this dish several times and every time it is just as good as the first time. I have given this recipe to my coworkers. The only ingredient I omitted was the sherry.

My mom is a HUGH chicken pot pie fan, so when she and my sister came to visit I made this for them. This is a big deal because I am not a cook at all. They were shocked, not because of how good it tasted but because I pulled it off. I have made this dish several times since than and it just keeps getting better and better.

I have always wanted to try and make a pot pie but thought it too difficult to do, not at all with this recipe. It takes a liitle time and prep but it is sooo worth it! I had no sherry and added a diced potato, i read in other reviews that the sauce was thin, it was at first but all you have to do is simmer untill it reaches your desired consistancy. I simmered for a good 10-15 min till nice and thick. I used small tin pie pans from the store and made 4 pies with top and bottom crusts, had to patchwork the tops but no big deal, a lot of left over filling but its so delicious that you could eat like a chicken chowder with a roll. A definite keeper, we will be making this alot this winter. Oh an inas apple crumble is a great dessert with this dinner!

My first time making a real pot pie, normally do the bisquick version but no more. This was so easy to put together and very light on the cream which is a bonus. I didn't add sherry because I didnt have it and I boiled some chicken fillets and cut into small pieces instead of using a store brought chicken. I made it in a 9 x 13 glass pan and just placed the dough over the top. It was incredible, I will definetly make these a staple in my house. Its a winner ^-^

My boyfriend watched the Neelys make this and told me it might be "worth a try". This stands as his biggest understatement ever. It takes me longer to prepare, but is so rewarding. I strongly recommend using low sodium chicken broth and baking your own boneless skinless chicken breast to limit the sodium (the bouillon cube provides enough for my palate. Starting with this great recipe, I agree with other reviews that substitutions can be made. I adore the peas, but substituted with broccoli florets for my mom so far.

I just finished making and eating this and it was DELISH! I didn't use any onions. I put in 3 medium sized cubed red potatoes unpeeled, 3 carrot sticks, 3 celery sticks, a handful of frozen peas, and a handful of frozen corn. I followed the recipe exactly with the garlic and chives. The chives smelled wonderful while it was cooking. I used a roasted chicken from publix deli. This one is definitely a keeper! I think the potatoes really made it awesome.

I am not a baker. I don't like to bake at all. So out of this recipe, all I did was make the filling. The filling is really what this recipe is all about anyway, so even though I hate it when people give a recipe 5 stars after adding or omitting half a dozen ingredients, I feel like my review is on point because I made the filling exactly as stated. I baked some crescent rolls in the oven as opposed to topping individual pies, and will serve the filling like a stew with a crescent roll on the side. I plan to also serve this over egg noodles (like a chicken a la king or even over a piece of toast. This way you have all of the deliciousness of the pot pie filling without the hassle of making a whole pie or a bunch of little ones. Thanks Neelys for this great recipe, it's a keeper!

I madr this for my parents and my children and they loved it. My twins came home from college and my youngest son was eating a piece and he said it was so good and did not even want to share with them so I had to make them some also. Delicious!!!! We will try this again.
