We made this recipe and it was delicious! The only thing we will change next time is using flour tortilla versus Corn tortillas. The corn tortilla shredded and fell apart. We made 40 of them and not a single corn tortilla come out without breaking. Flour tortilla were much better :

I had a hard time making these even after reading the extra tips from the comments. my corn tortilla's were really hard to work with and the taste was so bland. i ended up not serving them because they were just so bad. i wouldn't make these again.

I made this for my daughters July 08 wedding shower. Her new inlaws who are Hispanic loved it. I did not make the salsa or guac, just the taquitos (got good store bought salso to save time and doubled the batch. Also, to avoid all the chopping, put cooked chicken along with other already chopped ingredients into food processer and pulsed to get a nicely chunky / minced blend that I used for the filling. The flavors explode into your mouth; it was wonderful. Big hit. Am printing this recipe off for my mother-in-law.

I actually skipped the frying step for half of the batch to offer my guests a lower fat option, and they turned out just as great!

These taquitos were not worth the time or money. I think store bought taquitos can beat these anyday in terms of flavor. There are so many ingredients that the flavors get lost. I like real guac so I didn't care for the sour cream, and the tomatillo sauce was certainly not better than store bought with a little garlic, fresh onion, and cilantro added.
Some ingredients are expensive, the cost of these twenty four taquitos could buy you 200 from Costco.
And WHEW what a long time, by the time you get done chopping, cooking, rolling, frying, grilling, and mashing, your family is starving, you are pooped and you have a MAJOR mess to clean up.
Guy is the bomb but he should send this one back over the border.

You really CAN'T beat these taquitos. They reminded me of my favorite Mezican restaurant, they tasted so authentic. The only change I made was to use Mexican beer to deglaze the pan instead of Tequila. Also, I made my own special guacamole cream instead of using Guy's recipe. Thank you Guy!

The taquitos were easy to make, and were pretty good. What really made them pop was the guacamole. These were by far the best taquitos I have ever had.
