Ellie asked me to snack on her compartment. Good thing I wore a glove. No sign of a cherry anywhere, but there sure was a lot of nut in it.

This doesn't taste like a glove compartment at all. False advertising.

Yippee, was SO inspired we threw a garage party. Opened the walnuts by backing the car over 'em, easy peasy! Dried the cherries in the sun the day before so plan ahead. One piece of advice, they were still sweet, so we changed this brillant recipe just a bit. Unfortunately there wasn't any left over for my glove box. Oh, almost forgot, we did have a few friends who got a bit lightheaded from the car exhaust, but a quick trip to the ER took care of that.

I tried to toast the walnuts as suggested, but they all fell down to the bottom of the toaster and burned. After the fire department left, I tried again but on the "low" setting. Finally, I gave up and made a couple of substitutions. I sliced cheese, opened some crackers and ate them on the sofa.

I ride the bus, and don't know what to do since I'm not allowed to use the glove compartment. Can I still use this recipe?

Terrible. Does not provide instructions on how to unsweeten the cherries. So do I have to perform fractional distillation to remove the sugar content in the cherries? Please provide proper instructions next time. This is as confusing as 'Dark Chocolate As a Snack' recipe. Also, not specific enough on how to roast the walnuts. I tried putting them into the bread toaster and I couldn't get them out. Should I put it on the fire to toast them? Not specific. Lastly I have no idea what type of bags to use. I put it into my zippable LV bags and it ruined all my cosmetics in it. Give more specific instructions next time please.

I invited a few friends over and served this from the glove compartment. They loved it but they told others about it and before I knew it we had a car packed full of people. I ended up getting pulled over by a Statie because there were so many people in the car, but he saw that I had a glove compartment snack and let me go with a warning - warning me not to tell so many people about this delicious recipe.

I don't have room in my glove compartment, as it's full of unpaid parking tickets and an unregistered gun. Do you have any recommendations of where I can put this snack?

When I saw this yields "9 servings", I thought great, just the thing for the family to munch during the 3 minute drive to the mall for some fine food court dining. Well ... that might be "9 servings" for a runway full of anorexic fashion models, but in our oversized he-man SUV the "Snack" was finished before we left our McMansion length driveway. Refilling the recipe at the gas station only netted us whole walnuts and a bottle of maraschino cherries, and with no bowl in the vehicle we had to shell the nuts, drain the cherries, and mix the Snack in the "Glove Compartment" – what a mess! This recipe simply does not work in real life with real people.

This recipe was quite complicated, if you are a novice you may want to steer clear. Frankly, I found Rachel Ray's recipe for "Late Night Bacon" much easier to follow.
Perhaps Ellie could be persuaded to make a video of her technique?
