Delicious! Perfect recipe for the "i want a meatball sandwich" spot! I cook for my husband and 2 boys & they all loved it. The boys just ate the meatballs which are amazing alone. I didn't make my own bread (no time for that lol so I used bakery cheese and garlic sub buns instead. Yummo!

The buns-An absolute joke.
There has got to be a typo or something. I followed it to a T and have made bread/buns many times successfully.
The rest is ok but nothing noteworthy. Also, I LOVE garlic but for the first time in my life had to say TOO MUCH!!
So disappointed.

Followed the recipe exactly. I am a good cook and this was very disappointing. I regularly make my own bread, so this was nothing new, but the bread came out flat... Reading that the directions said to make sure you did not overcook the bread - I didn't, but the hardly rose at all and were very dense and chewy - the way bread tastes when it hasn't risen properly and/or isn't cooked long enough. Also, the meatballs were bland. The sauce was good, but that was about the only thing I liked in this recipe. Will not make this again. If you're looking for a good meatball sub recipe...keep looking.

Can someone tell me what type of yeast was used in this recipe? Is this fresh yeast or active dry yeast? That might make a difference.

Not sure why anyone would rate this poor unless they didn't follow directions properly and have some knowledge on how to cook.
Very nice variation to the norm. Nice texture and bold taste.
Everyone loved it and wanted more.
Made it a few times ... was a hit each time.
