What a hit. So creamy and smooth. Fresh fresh flavors. Oh and the lemon and salt were just right. Made it for a potluck~~ I used light mayo and light sour cream (all else just as directed and the bowl was empty.

This is a wonderful dressing, and I'm a tough critic. I love it whenever Ina suggests a specific amount of kosher salt in her recipes, because I know from experience it will taste just right. It is a fatal mistake to substitute standard table salt in this recipe in the same amount, because the dish will taste twice as salty as intended. Poor Ina Garten is a ratings victim of all the people who mess up her recipes by using the wrong type of salt and then turn around and blame ruined recipes on her. Since this seems to be an ongoing complaint, a good solution would be for Ina to give readers fair warning about substituting regular salt, and instructing to use less.

Delicious. After reading the reviews I started with half the salt (Kosher and slowly added more to taste and ended up just about where Ina said: 2 tsps. I should never have doubted her.

I really enjoyed this dressing, however, I will reduce the amount of salt in half. It was a little thick at first, great for a dip, but I needed to thin it some with a little water for the salad dressing. All in all, I will definately be making it often with all the basil I have.

The recipe calls for Kosher Salt. If you sub table salt or sea salt, you should use half as much. It bothers me when people change recipes and then give low scores,,,

Didn't have anchovies or anchovy paste on hand so I substituted worcestshire sauce - seems to have worked 'cause it was da' bomb! Thanks again Ina, this is a keeper to pass down to the new generations. I will be sharing this with my daughter. Made a great summer afternoon even greater!

We just love this dressing in the summer! I also like a previous reviewer do cut the basil with some fresh flat leaf parsley and cut back on the salt, just to taste. Excellent recipe as always from Ina!

I made this for a FD celebration on Sunday and it was a huge hit. I cut the salt to one tsp, as I find a lot of BFC recipes are pretty salty, so I knew ahead that this would be too much. It was spectacular, fresh, herbalicious!

I made this recipe following it to the letter. Gosh it was so salty and too lemony. I had to add 1/2 cup of buttermilk to try and correct the flavors.

Next time I'll use half the salt, no anchovies (although I like anchovy and half the lemon juice called for to try and tame it down.
