My husband and family report this as "The Best Soup Ever" - a 20 on a scale of 1-10!

We made it exactly as written and chose the two chipotle pepper option. Then, we had to add another 2 cups of broth and additional chicken to try and tame the fire! It was absolutely an explosion of flavors like you hear them talk about on the food network shows. WOWSERS - this is GREAT!

My husband loves it. It's a little too spicy for me, so I use only one chili. He adds hot sauce to his bowl. I serve it with the roasted poblano quesadillas for dunking. Delicious.

OOOOOOOWEE! Great soup! Great soup! Great soup! Easy. Easy. Easy. Spicy. Spicy. Spicy. This stuff sent my taste buds dancin'! Spicy and sweet. The broth is wonderful. Kept sipping it up right out of the pot! Used 2 chipotles...and it was HOT...but GOOOOOD! Timewise, for me, it took longer than the 30 minute allotted time...but it always does...guess I'm putsy in the kitchen.

A splash of lime juice and lime zest helped cool down the spice factor, still very tasty!

This is one of my all time favorite stoups! I love the combination of flavors. The sweet potatoes mixed with the chipotle peppers just makes it good. All of the veggies and chicken make it a nice hearty stoup! I make this again and again. It is a good way to fuse together some flavors you wouldn't normally cook together. So Good!

Thumbs up for how tasty it was, but thumbs down for how longgg it took to make. I changed it up a bit after reading the reviews...I didn't add the chipotle chili, scallions, cilantro leaves or thyme. I used 6oz of Bud Light beer instead of white wine. I used 3 cloves or garlic (instead of 2, added garlic powder & used a substantial amount of ground pepper, and a bit of sage & it turned out great! Even without the chipotle chili it was still spicy, but not too much. Next time I would use 1 more carrot & 1 more sweet potato because there was a little too much liquid.
It was a hit in our house and it complimented our homemade quesadillas very nicely. Enjoy!

My husband and I originally made this with the chipotle peppers as suggested and fund it too soicy to the extent that it co9vered up the flavors of the other ingredients. And we both enjoy spicy foods wuite a bit. Then one night, I had all the fixings except for the adobo. So i substituted chili powder and some cumin instead. It was very good, and the heat was much more palatable. We have enjoyed this variation on the recipe many times. Overall, the recipe is a keeper and has worked out well with a few minor adjustments.
