The topping is great, but I have had fluffier pumpkin waffle recipes (e.g. Williams Sonoma breakfast recipe book.

Great flavor. I think the wheat germ gave it a nice nutty texture and taste. Double the recipe it only made four waffles. And my two boys claimed all of them! Will make it again.

I didn't make the waffles, only the topping, but it was quite good. I cut the apples into bite-sized pieces, and threw in some cinnamon. . . it was sooooo good on waffles with a little bit of whipped cream on top. YUM!!! It was a little sweeter than I would have liked, so I think next time I would use Granny Smith or some tart variety of apples rather than the Fujis I used this time.

My family loved this recipe, and we all thought the topping was great too, although we did have to add a little more maple syrup to it. I also liked them with the topping and a little powdered sugar or ice cream too.

These waffles had a lot of flavor and they weren't to dry or to wet. They were absolutely terrific. We made some pumpkin waffles from mix, but they were way to moist defiantly will make again!

EVERYONE that eats these loves them. I get requests all the time. They are now a fall/winter tradition. I never have cake flour or wheat germ on hand so I just use all purpose flour and I think they are just fine like that. I don't make the syrup because its a hassle and it's not all the great according to me and my family. We just use regular old maple syrup. I highly recommend this recipe!
