That show was so much fun to watch! I have made the cookies and I want to make the sandwich for the super bowl party next year. Folks, these are splurge foods-not something you eat everyday. You couldn't eat like this (or afford to all the time. But once in a while, when you have enough friends and family, we all splurge. Just remember to have fun! Go out and play some football or basketball. Make room for the calories. Thanks Paula.

This sandwich is a delicious indulgence. My husband loves it. I substituted leftover standing rib roast ( I used Paula's Foolproof Standing Rib Roast recipe for the filet mignon. Everything else prepared as directed. The hardest part about making this was hiding a spare lobster tail from my hubby for 3 days. We had surf and turf for Christmas dinner and he was hoping for a second lobster tail. However when I served this up for lunch the next day he was glad I hid it.

This was a wonderful, fun show demonstrating different types of sandwiches. Paula's boy's prepared an updated panini version of her original chicken salad sandwich, which was one of the sandwiches she made when she had her "The Bag Lady" business. Jamie & Bobby Deen brought in the original bicyles they rode when delivering sandwiches for Paula. The "Fat Darrell Sandwich" was a magazine winner for best sandwich. The guy who made it was there to demonstrate it. He is a certified personal trainer & did push-ups on the show. Paula's "Surf & Turf Fat Darrell Sandwich" was sort of over-the-top challenge/response to the "Fat Darrell Sandwich." No one suggested that either sandwich should be a part of anyone's regular diet. To "Anonymous/another heart killer": If you are unable to enjoy Paula's shows, please don't watch them. If you don't like her cooking style, please don't prepare her recipes. And especially, please refrain from rating recipes you haven't even prepared. We already have enough food police! Food Network viewers & web users have enough sense to make their own decisions about the foods they put into their bodies. Paula, I love you & your recipes. Please keep up the good work! I'm coming to see you when you come to Dallas this month.

    (who wish they were European
This is quality food. YES it's rich and YES it's full of cholesterol...what's your point?
I highly doubt that Paula Deen's intention is for everyone to eat this kind of thing every day.
It takes a lot of guts to cook like this!
You have to work this food off, not just eat it then complain about how fat you are.
Bravo, and I can't wait to have one.

uhg. all that fat and cholesterol. just because you put some lettuce and tomato on it doesn't make it healthier. and the terrible white bread tht was used.
no wonder us americans are so fat!
