This was the most incredible tasting pie I have ever tasted. This is not a simple tasting pie, every bite is filled with a complex surprise of flavors. I absolutely loved it! I made it exactly as the recipe stated. Make sure when you make this pie, you make the crust that goes with it. It will be so worth it to make it. Don't cheat with store bought pie crust! The only problem I had with my pie crust, is that it looked so beautiful when I put it in the oven, but when it came out, it had shrank a little. Not sure, what went wrong. But it was still heavenly.

Great recipe! I changed it a little, I steamed the sweet potatoes (as in Alton Browns recipe instead of roasting, and I did vegan substitutions: soymilk instead of cream and one box of silken tofu instead of the eggs. The spice combination is wonderful!

This pie is so delicious. Roasting the sweet potato's is soooo worth it. They just fall out of the outer shell after you roast them. I popped the top and bottom off the potato and the inside just fell out. I did not do the step to strain through a seive. I just used my trusty kitchen aide mixer and beat the heck out of it. I incorperated the syrup into it as well. Also added a little vanilla and cardamom to the party. This pie is so moist and smooth. Way better than pumpkin.

I made this pie for Thanksgiving and it was such a wonderful recipe. I was a little nervous since I hadn't made sweet potato pie before. I was sooo shocked. It was very easy to make. This pie had just enough spice and the texture was perfect. We loved it so much that we're making it again for Christmas dinner.

This is my all time favorite sweet potato pie EVER! It comes out so moist and has wowed even the harshest of critics. The sweet potatoes come out great from the oven and I just peel them and mash them up by hand so the pie retains texture rather than just just tasting different from a pumpkin pie. Don't be scared about the longer baking time, it's well worth the wait and along with that, the sweet crust is worth making yourself too. Unlike most of my baking fellows, I don't have a stand mixer, so it's me and my brute strength to pull it together and it's really no big deal. Anyway, it's one of my favorite to make and it's become the recipe to beat around the holidays!

This was the first Thanksgiving that I have made sweet potato pie, since I didn't have a recipe that I already knew I turned to foodtv.com there were so many that sounded good that I couldn't just pick one so I made 3 different ones and this was the family favorite! The pie had good texture and flavor, yes it has similar spicing to a pumpkin pie but that's what we liked. The others were an Alton Brown recipe and a Tyler Florence recipe.

I left out one egg and added about 1/4 cup of Grand Marnier and this was delicious. I was leery of so much ginger but it was wonderful. I'd also suggest that if you're in a hurry, buy a pre-made crust. But definitely use this filling.
