I love this recipe. I made it for my mom on Mother's Day and her birthday. I get requests for this recipe all the time. I used a pineapple cake mix instead of white once. It was really great too.

I have high expectations for each of my dinners and tried this cake for a new group of friends - it was WONDERFUL - I did drain the crushed pineapple. Although I used 9" pans and didn't split the cakes, it still came out great - next time I MAY make my OWN cream cheese frosting - but otherwise this is a KEEPER and I'll surely make it again when I want to WOW my guests!

This cake looks & tastes like it was a lot of work, but is so simple to toss together. So incredibly moist. it's my favorite cake.

My husbands boss came to dinner at the last minute and I remembered seeing this on the show. I printed it out and it realy was as easy as it looked. Everyone loved it as well.

I made this cake for the first time this week and we liked it very much. The only changes I made was to toast my pecans before adding to the batter and frosting and I made my own cream cheese frosting because often times store bought is too sweet for our liking. FYI-You can toast nut halves on a cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven, stirring every five minutes, for 10-15 minutes. Just need a few nut pieces toasted? - use a dry skillet, stirring constantly. Don't leave the nuts, they can burn quickly. Be sure to remove them from the cookie sheet (or panas you they reach the desired browness, otherwise they will continue cooking. You won't believe the diffence in the taste of toasted nuts. I do a whole bag full and store them in the freezer.

This cake was delicious enough, but it crumbled terribly and I was so embarrassed.

This cake has entirely too much sweetness to it. Although cake should, in fact, be sweet, it should not result in a sugar coma.
