I made these this Christmas season because one of my kids love coconut. The whole family enjoyed them. I used milk chocolate and they were great.

These cookies were incredibly dry, and really needed the white chocolate coating in order to stay together. I had to flatten them myself, they didn't flatten. That being said, they were DELICIOUS. I am going to try them with one more egg and a little more sugar as suggested by a few other reviewers and see if that helps them stay together more!

I was very disappointed in these cookies. First off the flour was not listed as 2-1/2 cups. My recipe said 1-1/2 cups. They are flat and too soft. I baked them for over 10 minutes because they didn't look cooked. They puffed up in the oven but then went flat. They also don't have any taste. All I could taste was butter not the coconut at all. Very disappointed.
Being a daughter of a pastry chef I have lots of baking expierience and I can tell you these cookies are not what there cracked up to be. I won't make them again and plus the expense of ingredients makes me mad when they don't come out right.

As I sit here munching on the plate filled with cookies from this recipe, I am surprised to hear some of the reviews...and I had the harder task where I cut the batch in half instead of a full batch!

I would agree that the dough seemed a bit dry when I was mixing the batter, but they rendered cake-y and fluffy cookies for me. I did change the recipe where I dipped the cooled cookies in milk chocolate versus white, because I truly don't like white chocolate.

The cookies didn't flatten out but I like them regardless since they look like little snow balls! I think I might try to adapt this recipe to make a Magic Cookie Bar COOKIE. With butterscotch chips and a bit of condensed milk.

I plan on making these for Christmas and New Years! Happy Holidays!

When I printed this recipe years ago, the flour was only 1 1/2 cups and there was 1 cup of granulated sugar included, along with the 1/2 cup of brown sugar listed. Everything else was the same. These are a favorite of my family - try them again with the original ingredients and measurements!

These cookies are like short bread cookies, so they're not your typical melt in your mouth cookie. I haven't had any problems with the recipe. I would suggest pressing the balls before baking. To me this cookie is great for holiday parties.

I don't know what happened, I followed the directions perfectly but they were so dry & salty, not sweet. Yuck, not impressed, had to throw them away.

What happen to these cookies??? The dry ingredience just seem to be too much for 1egg & 1 cup of butter!! When I cooked them they didn't flatten & they were so dry, they just crumbled. Did you get your recipe right? ? With most cookie recipes, that much flour you usually add 2 eggs. You need to re-do the recipe, it is no good the way that it is!! I have alot of wasted ingrediences, they are no good, I had to throw them away!!

Followed suggesions by other reviewer and added an extra egg and extra sugar. First batch of cookies did not flatten. Second batch I flattened with a knife before baking. Their shape was better but the cookie itself is very bland and uninteresting. The only thing that saves this cookie is the white chocolate!

I had read some of the other reviews and increased the brown sugar to about 3/4 cup and these are excellent cookies. Way to go Paula!
