I have to say that this is one of the best m & C reciepes i've made in quite some time. It was creamy and full of flavor. I was a little concerned that it was going to be too soupy when i was adding the cheese mixture to the noodles but i was willing to give it a try. The finished product got rave reviews!
The breadcrumb topping was great, definately use the panko style! The only downfall is that it is kinda costly with all the cheeses, especially if you get the right kinds. BUT...you get what you pay for!
I will make this recipe again and again. Thanks so much!

I made this for my family and have since passed on the recipe to several other people. Everyone who has made it gives it 5 stars. You won't be disappointed.

I thought this was an excellent recipe. Very cheesy and comforting! Of course, fattening but I wasn't looking for a low-fat mac n cheese!

One of the reviewers stated that you should be prepared to spend $30 - $40. I didn't spend nearly that much. The cheese is obviously where the expense come from. However, I bought my cheese at Whole Foods and probably only spent $12 or less on the cheese. It cost me around $2.50 for panko break crumbs but I had leftover crumbs to use for something else. The rest of the ingredients are very cheap or something you would normally have in your pantry. This makes a LOT of mac n cheese. There are 5 people in my family and we could only eat half the first night. (Was great as leftovers too!

I will definitely make this one again.

I made this recipe for a party and everyone raved about it. I wouldn't make it often because it is loaded with fat.

This mac & cheese is amazing! I have made it several times and have great results every time. I have never used pre-shredded cheese and have never had the "gritty issue that some reviews mentioned. It is super creamy and is always a huge hit wherever I go...NEVER any leftovers, which is saying a lot because this makes quite a bit of mac & cheese (granted, there are never less than twenty people at our family gatherings. I do not use the additional salt, as I feel cheese is salty enough. I also cut the amount of breadcrumbs in half and have much better results. It is expensive, so be ready to spend about $30-$40 on this one dish, but it is very good and worth every penny. I will be trying it with an assortment of other cheeses to vary the flavor, but I know the technique works, so I know I will get creamy macaroni every time. You should definitely add this to your repertoire - you'll be glad you did!

Only two things to say... Asiago cheese is very expensive, so I got the parmesan and asiago cheese mix....it was perfect... also the a tablespoon of pepper is just way too peppery for this too much bread crumbs...i will not be using them again, it is better without ...other than that i it was creamy and delicious!! verrrry easy it was my first time making homemade mac!!!

I used freshly grated cheese and it was great, also added cooked bacon which added a good flavor.
