I've made the croquettes a TON of times and they are just PHENOMENAL! I use tilapia instead of cod and find that it flakes really nicely. I had to use two eggs for the mixture, and I soften my onions and celery before adding them. I made them semi "healthy" by using canola oil instead of veggie, and making my own breadcrumbs out of 9 grain bread. I'll definitely use Egg Beaters next time to get rid of even more calories. This one is a winner!

I made this recipe a few weeks ago and it was awesome!! My husband really liked it. He was skeptical at first, but after eating it just loved it. Great as leftovers too!

As good, perhaps even better, than most crab cakes or other types of fish cakes that I've had. I did add a pinch of kosher salt to the mixture and used 1/2 cup of EggBeaters in place of the one egg in the recipe and the additional egg that most have suggested. I also added about a half cup of minced sweet red bell pepper which also added to the taste factor. They formed together nicely and did not fall apart when cooking. I think the "falling apart" might happen when the veggies and fish are left in chunks that are too big -- even though the recipe says "finely chopped" I strongly suggest mincing instead. Will definitely use again. I made my own side dishes instead of the potato & spinach, so can't comment on that. I also made a spicy remoulade sauce in place of RR's gravy.

My house was split. My daughter and husband did not care for the potatoes (they are my picky eaters but liked the croquettes. My son and I loved it all. I used 2 eggs as well (thanks for the tip! and tilapia since that is what I had on hand. I am not a thyme fan, but followed the recipe anyway. Next time I will fix it without the thyme. Even so, it was fabulous and I would fix it again!

Our whole family loved this recipe! Because I read other reviews before making it, I used three eggs and they held together perfectly. Instead of making the gravy I caramelized some shallots, then diced the fresh red pepper and mix it all in with some tartar sauce. It was a great topping. I also found that it made ten rather than eight croquettes. I had enough extras to freeze and get a whole other meal out of in the future!

The sauce and the potatoes were great. The cod cakes seem too complex and maybe due to that a bit bland. No strong flavor came through. If I made it again I would alter the code cakes a bit.

This whole meal was absolutely delicious. I added a little more flour to the gravy though because I prefer my gravy thicker. The spinach potatoes are *amazing* and the fish cakes are light and full of flavor. I can't wait to make this again and sandwich 'em between some soft bread & tarter sauce.

This entire recipe was wonderful. Even my hubby liked the croquettes. Fish is not high on his good things to eat list. The gravy and potatoes were very good also. Again he even liked the potatoes with spinach. I will diffently make this again.
