After marinating over night, I seared/charred the outside on the grill, then tossed in the crockpot w/ some ck broth for 8 hrs. Ir was dedlicious -- especially w/ the rice and beans from this episode.

The marinade was very easy to make. WEAR GLOVES when working with the jalapenos. My fingers are still burning and I made the marinade yesteray. I didn't want to deal with roasting it all day, so I used a crockpot on low for 8 hours. 1/2 to 1 cup of chicken broth on bottom. Turned out great. I wonder how much different it would taste if I did roast it in the oven all day? Has anyone tried both ways and compared?

This is the best recipe I've found and tasted in years. Who knew it would come from a man from my own former backyard? I used to live in Dighton which is a stone's throw from Fall River. I miss the quality of different ethnic foods from there.

I thought the flavor was overpowering. Me and my husband agreed to throw the recipe out. I just felt terrible because I wasted all that meat.

Not only was it easy to make, but was even better when accompanied by the Portuguese rice and beans. I too used a bone in pork roast and it turned out just fine. These recipes will definitely be repeats! Thank you Emeril!

I cooked this in a crock pot on high for about 8 hours along with onions, potatoes and carrots. It was as tender as could be and the flavor was perfect. I highly recommend this recipe!

I followed the directions except I had to use green jalapenos because no red ones were available. The recipe was easy to follow and came out perfect. My stepfather is Portuguese and actually grew up in Fall River like Emeril and I did it for him. He absolutely loved it.

My husband is from Portugal so I decided to be a good wife and make the whole meal with this dish and we invited our neighbors over. None the less Amazing it was tender juicy amazing, my husband said best portuguese meal he has tasted in a long long time. Well recommended, it does take time but worth it and your house smells delicious for a long time.
