I made this recipe in about ten minutes. It was good but not great. I would give it a 4.5. I ate it while it was still hot and I couldn't taste it! However after it cooled my whole family said it was very delicious!

My grocery store doesn't sell mini pie crusts so I made my own and did a full size tart. This was so good and I am not normally a dessert eater! I can't wait to make one for work and to bake them for the holidays!

This recipe is perfect! I have made it several times because my family and I LOVE "Pastel de nata" (the Portuguese name for these, and to make my own homemade is sooooooo much better than the ones bought at the bakery or "Seabras". Very glad I found this recipe. As a matter of fact, I am making 70 of these for my brother's police academy graduation party!

My friends love these custard tarts! we used to think that we had to fly to tornoto to get them.untill we found this one portuguese bakery in vancouver where we usually buy them frozen... FROZEN BAKERIES NO MORE! every one was so pleased! it's such a simple recipe! almost like making a flan with half the sugar because there's no caramel. Mmmm!
    Thanks Emeril!!!
