Great recipe, came together surprisingly fast. The flavor of the cole slaw was unexpected, but it grew on me. Sandwich and fries were so tasty; altogether the plate looked fantastic!

I haven't tried this recipe yet. While it may be a quick meal, I doubt it is the 20 minutes she states as cook time, or even the 30 minutes her show title indicates.
Rachael is my favorite cook show host( I don't watch many, but her 30 minute meals concept is frustrating to me. She is more then welcome to challenge me on this 30 Minute Meal concept...

It was delicious! The ketchup just tastes like cocktail sauce, but with that said, it was AWESOME cocktail sauce! Definitely complimented by the celery salt on the fries. Loved the tartar sauce as well. The slaw was wonderful, and I'll be making it again. As far as others' comments on Rachael's use of British vernacular, last time I checked this was a forum to rate RECIPES, not a place to bash the Food Network's talent.

I had run out of sesame seeds and honey so I used Agave for sweet and left off the sesame it still was a super simple, tasty slaw. Thank you Rachael

Before I get into the review of the recipes, let me just say that if you watched this episode, you'd know she's not referring to the ketchup with a curse word. She's simply trying to replicate the flavors in a Bloody Mary cocktail with her fries and ketchup, hence the celery salt on the fries...
So the recipes are pretty good. My husband enjoyed the slaw salad; though I did make it with agave syrup instead of honey. I actually really like the "tartar" sauce. True, it's not a classic tartar sauce, but that's probably why I like it. It gets better the longer it sits, so I'd recommend making that and your ketchup mixture first and putting in the fridge until the rest of the dinner is ready. The first time I made the whole menu from this recipe, I made it exactly as written. I have to say I'm not wasting time on the sandwich part any more. I just grill or broil whatever fish I have on hand, then serve with the fries, sauces on the side and slaw. Happy eating!

Made the fennel/red cabbage salad for a large crowd at a cook out! Followed the recipe as written the first time I made it for my family and decided it needed more honey and less oil. Also decided veggie oil would be better than olive oil. That was the perfect answer! Next I made it for the cook out! It received RAVE REVIEWS!!! Everyone had seconds. It travels well (no mayo. Left overs stay crisp for a good two days!! Very colorful and healthy, too, I must add. I ended up emailing everyone the recipe. It's a keeper in my perminant recipe file!! Next I'll try the fist sandwish!

I agree with Kala..I can't imagine the Brits would call something "Bloody" anything. I know in my husband's home..that word is definitely a no no. Live and LEARN..be careful what you say..you may think it's cute, but can be very offensive to some. (and you should just title this Spicy Ketchup
On a lighter note..I'm going to try the slaw..looked good.

Doesn't "The Next Generation" imply a better version? This dish did not even look appetizing. It looked horrible. Just because you have some sort of fish and crisped up potatoes, it does not make it related to the British Fish and Chips. I am British, and would not even recognize that as Fish and chips, much less the next generation. Oven Fries are no better than deep fried, and whatever was made healthier by grilling, was ruined by the addition of that greasy so called tartar sauce. By the way, the word "Bloody" is a swear word, as it generally replaces another word that starts with "F". Bloody Ketchup is not related to "bloody" this or that. Please stop using a word you don't know anything about and do your homework before you run your mouth about your meals.

Who said this is british pub food? I'm british and this IS NOT british. This is an american version of what they think british pub food is like. It looks horrendous...and way too much food, no wonder americans are overweight eating this amount of food. Do your research before presenting trash.
