Made this for my boyfriend the other night and he said this was the best sandwich he has ever eaten. I cannot believe that a sandwich could turn out so wonderfully. Made it just exactly as stated in the recipe. No wonder I have every one of Ina's cookbooks!!

I made this sandwich for my husband the other night and one word from his mouth explains it all "WOW".....he LOVED it and so did I....it was so easy to make....I didn't add the sour cream to the mayo-mustard because my husband can't have dairy but other than that, i followed the recipe to the tee.....it was delicious....thank you Ina....you are a WONDERFUL cook.....

I made this the other day to the exact recipe. It was SO good and so easy to make. My husband and children loved it and I will be making this again. I love Ina's recipes. Next time I will be making an open face sandwich instead as it will be easier to eat.

I added horseradish to the mayo mustard and used whole wheat pita for a lower fat version. I also substituted the arugula for spinach because that was all I had on hand.

Flavors blend beautifully. I substituted horesradish for the sourcream 2nd time I made it, and loved it even more.

What a great sandwich to make for your husband. My husband travels a lot, and I made this for him right before leaving on another trip (to avoid airport food...yuk! He raved about this sandwich throughout each bite. I also made the eggplant gratin as a side dish which he loved (I did add a few chips on the side. Thank you, again, Ina...you are great and your recipes and always so thoughtful!

These steak sandwiches are so great. My family loved them. The mustard mayo/spread was excellent.
