I tweaked the recipe, i used smoked sausage, and Goya Sazon seasoning for my chicken and kidney beans. Turned out very good, husband really enjoyed this dish! Thanks Paula!

Added shrimp and used S/B chicken. Also minced garlic and sautéed it with the peppers. Tried it once w/o the diced tomatoes and it turned out well, not as moist.

My family loved this dish! Next time I think I will add some shrimp. Don't leave out the lemon, it adds a great element. Do make sure you have a large cooking vessel. My 12 cast iron skillet was very close to overflowing! In fact, I shorted the broth by 1/2 a cup because it was too close! Turned out great, though, and SO easy!

I've always wanted to make paella! This is a great tasting dish that was easy to make! My husband and I loved it! There was so much left over, we decided to share with our next door neighbors. They're still raving about it! The next time I make this dish, I'm going to add seafood (shrimp and mussels!

Very good and easy to make just as it is. I have also used fresh asparagus tips instead of peas and minute type brown rice in place of long grain and that was excellent as well.

Just made this tonight for dinner and it was great! Like others, I tweaked the recipe to make it my own. I did not use the bell pepper, as I do not care for them. I added frozen raw shrimp at the same time I added the rice and saffron. I used drum sticks only as they are easiest to eat. I also used mexican chorizo in place of spanish. I thought everything turned beautifully. I love this recipe and will use it again and again. Next time I make it I will add more salt and maybe some cayenne or crushed red pepper to up the spice factor.

Paula, Paula, Paula. I have not had this dish before to compare to your recipe. It was good but not great. I expected a very flavorful dish with all the spices and chorizo, but not so. I'm not sure what needs to be tweaked, but I will try this again adding some things. I followed your recipe and let me say there is no way to safely brown that chicken on high heat. What a mess! My firefighter husband was standing by asking if I was going to have a fire again. I had to use 2 pans (12" & 14" to hold all of the ingredients. Thanks for the effort, but needs some adjustments.
