1. To much butter.
2. Not enough water & milk
It felt spongy and fat and rubbery and bitter. Not sweet enough. I suggest, just like JFayeCooks to add tepid water. It helps.

I followed the recipe verbatim and made a "test" crepe. It was entirely too thick, sponge-like or rubbery and eggy. Decided to thin out the batter using tepid water. Adding the water helped and was able to get two good crepes for our dessert. Reviewed other recipes and it seems that most recipes require a combination of water and milk.

It was good, but rather bitter.
i didn't read the comments, so i didn't know that it was.
Usually, plain crepes are really good, and i thought, "well i love chocolate, so why not," and it was good.
not something i would make again, with the chocolate. i don't know if it was just the chocolate or what?
But, the butter was fine, but i wished i didn't use the chocolate.
The recipe was good though, but even with the sweets, it still was too bitter for me.

I tried this crepe recipe because I liked the chocolate aspect, and wanted to try a different recipe. As others have noted, there was TOO much butter. I didn't need to spray/butter the pan to make these because there was so much butter. Also as others noted, these weren't sweet--so if you topped with sweet toppings it would be ok, but by themselves the crepes were a little bitter.

I did not like it because of too much butter. I would cut down on butter next time.

My husband made these and thought that they were so easy. He even added his own twist with a touch of cinnamon and vanilla extract.
The kids and I truly enjoyed this and even requested it the next morning. Thanks Paula for a simple and wonderful recipe.

The holidays are coming to a close and my hubby and I went to the movie tonight. We were in the mood for something different. Tonight we made your crepes and loved them. So easy and so delish.
