Tasty recipe. I used half and half and 2% milk for the pudding and 2 tsp. vanilla extract instead of butterscotch schnapps and it came out wonderful. I can't believe I made pudding from scratch and it was so easy. I do think it needed salt and I added half a teaspoon to brighten things up. Shortnread was good and went well with pudding, but I learned I prefer a traditional shortbread to brown sugar. Who knew? A great dessert none the less!

I'm a rookie chef just picking up the pots and pans at 42. My family and I found this to be a very, vary sweet dessert. My next serving of it will be smaller with a scoop of ice cream.

Well worth the bit of extra time and effort to make this pudding! Wonderful results substituting 1% milk for the whole milk -- but keep the heavy cream! Brown sugar shortbread also excellent. What a great pair when you're hankering for something different but decadent!

I made it at the fire house where I work as a finishing touch to dinner. It was easy to make just hard to secure from the guys while it was setting.

I love shortbread and found this shortbread recipe to be a good variation. However, the recipe is not well written because it does not adequately distinguish between the two types of sugar! To the experienced chef, it's obvious which one should be used where. But to just say "Add the sugar..." followed by "Combine the sugar..." without qualification is a bit ambiguous.
