This is the best burger I have ever made. I actually got 8 burgers using an ice cream scoop, I put a scoopful in my hand, then put cheese in the middle and topped with another scoop of meat. I used ground turkey because that's what I had in the freezer. I made the red onion compote and as others had stated it is absolutely amazing! I put the burger together as Sandra did on the show, nothing but lettuce and onion compote and the sweet and savory combination took this burger over the top. My husband, who doesn't like onions, said it was delicious. My teenage son ate mounded the compote onto his second burger and all I could salvage was a tablespoon to use in the round 2 recipe. (can't wait!! I couldn't believe that beer could make food so wonderful. Thank you Sandra for all of your creative and fabulous recipes. God Bless you

This was a very good burger. The addition of beer really puts it over the top. I cooked it on the inside grill and it was really delicious. I also prepared the red onion compote with good results. It was pretty tasty for a good change to the regular.

My husband and I watched the show and these burgers looked so good that we went out for the ingredients and tried them that evening. The onion compote was so flavorful and sweet it is the only topping we used on our burgers. I don't like the taste of beer so I was skeptical but I loved the onion compote and will make this again. Also, I used the leftovers for the round 2 meatloaf and it was pretty good too!

This was easy to fix and was a hit with my family. The compote goes well with steak too. Very tasty dish.

My husband saw the show this morning and said how good this looked. So I got online and read the recipe. I had all the ingredients except I only had crumbled blue cheese and a sweet onion, so I substituted those instead, but it still turned out absolutely delicious. It was so easy and tasted so gourmet!

I didn't enjoy the compote. I made as directed and love onion, but I wasn't a fan.

My mouth has been watering since watching the program, I have finally gotten my red onion and my can of beer so I am on my way to the kitchen to cook these for supper tonight. I am a hamburger junkie so I just know these are gonna be really good. I am going to use blu cheese instead of what susan calls for waiting for the compote to cook. cant wait

I saw these on tv this morning and had to make them tonight. Let me just say, they are as wonderful as they look!!! The burger was so juicy and it has a taste that makes it stand out from other burger i've ever eaten. I will never make regular burgers again, these have spoiled me. I didn't put the red onion compote on mine because I don't like onions but my dad loves them and he used the entire batch of it on his burger because he liked it so much, he said he could have eaten it with a spoon! Such a cheap meal too, I will make it again for sure.
