Semi-Homemade? This isn't even REMOTELY homemade! Everything on the ingredient list is "store-bought" or "bakery-bought"... How does Food Network stand behind this?
We're on to you, FN...
"Her trademark 70/30 philosophy combines 70% ready-made products with 30% fresh ingredients."
So... where is the 30%?

When I look up a recipe for cake and see the first ingredient on the list is "cake," I know I'm in for a treat! Sandra's recipe was so simple that it took no time to make at all! I am excited about her upcoming recipe for sliced bread. I don't want to spoil the surprise, but the first ingredient on the list is "bread, one loaf," so canny chefs can plan their ingredient shopping ahead!

It's pointless to say this cake is delicious because NONE OF IT IS MADE BY YOU! It's entirely dependant on where you buy the cakes to stack on top of eachother and pretend your a "chef". If I went to Macdonalds and bought a cheeseburger and a big mac and smushed them together thats not a "recipe" by any stretch, and neither is this joke of a cake.

who on earth would benefit from this disaster?
What the hell are the two tubes of "writing icing" for that do not appear to be called for in the assembly instructions?
Why couldn't I just ask the bakery to make the whole thing?
I can't even imagine what they were thinking compiling this ab0rti0n.

I was shocked they call this a recipe. Semi-homemade should still have the "homemade" aspect - and that needs to go beyond construction of the final project.

Apparently Angelina Jolie made this for Maddox birthday. It just goes to show you that you can switch up the theme and get it to be for any occasion.

Seriously, if you are going to spend this much money on a birthday cake, why not pay a bakery or private baker to do the work for you and actually make something that is cohesive?? And it's assuming an awful lot to think anyone can walk into a bakery and get yellow and white iced cupcakes, an unfrosted sheet and round cake, AND daffodil cookies!!!
And tubs of fake frosting?? GROSS!!! Even the "Cake Doctor" says to take the effort and make a simple buttercream to frost that boxed cake. How hard is it to dump some butter and powdered sugar, a little vanilla, in a bowl and beat it for a couple of minutes, if you are actually going to bother FROSTING the cake anyway??
I can't believe she actually has her own show.

This "recipe" is a waste of space. This is not a recipe and where in the world are you going to find daffodil cookies. Please. Can I get -stars.
