This is a really good mac and cheese recipe. I made it couple times and always get great feedback. Since then though, I have discovered Ina Garten's recipe for Mac and Cheese and I thought that just took macaroni and cheese to a whole new level of deliciousness. That's why I'm only going to give this one four stars, even though I liked it a lot, because I know there are better ones out there. This one is really cheesy though and good. I just didn't think stellar. I've also tried this recipe deep fried which is an interesting twist!

This is wonderfully easy. I did add velveeta and parm to make it extra cheesy!!! I also put buttered cracker crumbs on the top!!! This one is a keeper!!!

I made this last nite and it came out beautifully and delicious! I was alittle nervous since we usually do velveeta and shells, but this was waaaay better. I did add alittle cayenne, powdered mustard, and topped with bread crumbs. Next time I'll try different cheeses. Thank you Paula!

GREAT recipe!! This was my first time making a homemade mac-n-cheese! Usually we just eat the box kind but never again! My oldest daughter helped and she was beaming with pride afterward. The only change, we added a little more cheese to the mix and top. Thanks for a great recipe!

This is a 5 star dish!!! When my kids where young they loved the boxed version and I grew to hate it, so I havent ate it in a very long time. Then I saw Paula make this and thought I would try it. Its a favorite in my house now!!!!! Thank You Paula, I love mac and cheese NOW!!!!!

I made this for our end of the school year potluck amongst the teachers and it was the first thing to go!! I added a lot of extra cheese on top and it was so dang delicous! I wish it had a crumb topping but even though it didn't.... it was still incredible!

I thought this recipe was excellent; I added a little freeze dried chive and used nonfat sour cream as I didn't have regular sour cream on hand.
I used this mac & cheese as a side dish and it could easily serve 4 people. As a main dish, it could be considered 2 "generous" servings.
The dish was a teeny bit soupy but that was fine with me; it was creamy and I did add more cheese than what the recipe called for, more like 3-4 cups of grated cheese.
My husband had a second serving of this wonderful dish and he's one of those who seldom eats seconds of anything!
All in all, I thought this was delicious mac & cheese, probably the best I've ever made.
Oh, I also took one of the other reviewers' advice and melted some butter and mixed it with 2 tablespoons of bread crumbs to sprinkle on the top of the casserole while baking.
Another good tip was to cook 2 cups of "uncooked" mac in order to get 4 cups of "cooked" mac.
