I am single and usually cook new recipes on Sunday and pack up the leftovers for breakfasts/lunches for the rest of the week. This recipe was such a treat on Sunday, but as a leftover....not so good. However, this is usually the case for egg dishes unless it is flan or quiche.

DO NOT SKIP THE THYME!!!!! The Thyme in this dish was such a wonderful treat!!!

BTW....I added about 1/2 cup of some diced tomatoes that I needed to use up.

Again, make this when you have LOTS of hungry appetites to help you finish it up while it is hot!!!! Don't try to use it as a leftover.

    Otherwise......totally fantastic!!!!!!

Based on the other reviews, I tried to give this recipe some zip by ommitting thyme and lemon and using basil instead. I sauteed red, yellow, and orange peppers with cherry tomatoes and bacon, and added it to the frittata. I also used 2 TBSP of olive oil on each side of the frittata. It was still just okay. I wouldn't go through the effort of flipping it again unless I was wowed. And I wasn't. Don't get me wrong--it was totally edible and others who ate it said they liked it; I just won't make it again.

And it looks to me from the video that she used much more than 2 TBLS of parsley and 3 TBLS of thyme.
Also, she used MUCH more than 1/2 teaspoon salt.
She also probably used 2 TBLS of olive oil for each SIDE of the frittata.
You also can't cheat- you have to use extra virgin olive oil.

I think if you didn't follow the amounts on this recipe, and made it more like she did, with a BIG handfull of fresh herbs and a BIG pinch of salt then it may be more tasty.
    Pasta needs lots of salt.

Also, if you don't have that many fresh herbs, dried ones are stronger and may be better to use with the amounts she lists in her ingredients. Maybe that was the issue with the "blandness" the others mentioned.
Next time I make it I am going to "eyeball" the measurements like she did.

This is really good but I did make some changes. I increased the eggs to 8, cream to 1/4 cup, used Romano cheese, 1 tsp. dry thyme, 1 tsp. salt, added cooked and crumbled sausage and cooked it in my home make thyme flavored olive oil. I chose to make the changes after reading the reviews. I knew that this was something I would like to try but took everyone's advise and punched it up a notch. It had lots of flavor and was dinner with a salad.

This was easy to make but it was a bit bland as others have said. I do like that it will travel well, so I plan to play around with it. Maybe some rosemary and garlic instead of lemon and thyme? Pecorino instead of Parmesan?

This is the first recipe I have made from Giada's shows. I have this episode saved to my DVR and made it just as she did. Wow, it was so bland and just wrong that I could not eat it and had to throw it out! Really a waste of time and food!

This is such a great recipe ... and it lends itself to just about anything you might want to add.

We used pasta and some hamburg w. bacon. Yummy!

The leftovers are going to be great to "grab" for breakfast!

I just made a test batch for lunch....1/3 the original size. the first thing I thought of when I saw this episode was that a protein would be a good addition...so I added some breakfast sausage I had left over. Not a surprise..., it was great! I think next time I might add some left over ham or chicken breast. Even a little shredded cheese might be good in the mixture. Perfect amount of thyme! Not too much...not too little. I didn't have lemon, but it was still great! This is a KEEPER!

I agree that, although it was good, it is kind of bland. I think that next time I'll try adding italian sausage or something to give it more flavor.
