My family loves this one. They beg me to make it all the time! It takes me way longer than 15 min. to make it though... but worth the effort.

Great. I didn't have potatoes so I added bread crumbs to the mix. And I used pancetta not regular bacon. Loved them. They had a mild taste that even someone that doesn't love salmon would probably like. The onion really makes it!

I never give bad reviews but I had too stop cooking in the middle of preparing it. Yes, it was THAT bad. After frying about four cakes and tasting them I decided not to continue with the rest of the batch. It did not taste good at all. I followed the recipe exactly as it's written but it tasted bland and nasty. I'm sorry I got caught up with all the rave reviews. We ended up ordering chinese food.

This recipe really does deserve all the 5-star reviews it's gotten thus far! I tried it out last night and it was delicious. To cut down on prep time I ended up using a vegetable/herb seasoning blend that I had on hand containing dehydrated potatoes, green & red bell peppers, onions, parsley, etc. and added a few other herbs and seasonings to my liking. The finished product was amazing! My husband described them as "delicious". I asked him if he would like for me to make him more and he shook his head "yes" so hard that I thought he was about to break his neck! Lol. Great recipe.

Absolutely loved these, the bacon, Lemmon zest, well everything made these SOoo yummy! I might have use a little less potato and mayo next time. I used the bacon fat left over from the bacon and a couple tablespoons of oil instead do 1/4 c of oil. Gave it great flavor and I also used flavored Panko bread crumbs. My hubby loved these too, he said " you can make these again!

I used to make salmon patties using cornmeal and bread crumbs; however, my daughter didn't care for them at all and would only eat them covered with ketchup! But she can't get enough of these salmon cakes! She LOVES them and do we all! They are so good. This is a meal that we have often and there is always salmon on hand in the cupboard. The patties I used to make were a once in a while thing, but the salmon cakes are a must!
I have simplified the recipe somewhat by using real bacon bits for the bacon and minced dehydrated onion, just to make it go a little faster in the kitchen. I don't think that the flavor is compromised and I still have to double the recipe so every gets their fill! Thanks so much!!!

We really enjoyed this recipe. The salmon cakes had an almost creamy texture but with a nice brown crunchy outside. I read several reviews before making these and I agree you can cut back on the 1/2 cup mayo that is specified in the recipe to about 1/4 to 1/3 cup. I used panko bread crumbs for the crunchy outside. I also refrigerated the mix before making the patties and they held together fine although still delicate. This recipe is for sure a keeper!

The bones in salmon are a big part of its nutrition, all that calcium. In canned salmon, the big bones are easy to find in between the chunks of fish. And you don't need to take out the little bones. Just squish them between your fingers and they dissolve into the fish. They are not hard. Get all that nutrition!

These also are great for experimenting. Add a little salsa or use salsa on top. Add a little curry, Make a little sauce with yogurt and mustard. Try stuff!
