I'll admit I was skeptical, but I followed this recipe exactly the way it says to, and I loved it. The first bite was really tangy and minty, and I still was not convinced. However, as I ate a few more bites, the flavors all came together. The cool mint was enough to cut the tang of the pomegranate juice, and altogether, this is the perfect summer party dessert. It is very sweet, but it is sorbet made from fruit juice and simple syrup, and I expected it to be. Very nice, Giada. I love that you're bringing something a little different!

I halved the sugar to 1/2 cup. I also used the pomegranite w/blueberry - it tatsed alot like mint, but the next day that flavor really mellowed out. It was good but I probably wont make it again.

I loved this! However be really careful not to let the mint steep in the simple syrup too long. The first time I made this it was really minty. Also I mixed in a cup of marscapone to cut some of the super sweetness. And one last thing I did was use white chocolate chips. It was so good! I can't wait to make this as soon as summer is here!

I really liked the flavor of this sorbet, but it was waaaay too sweet. Next time I will reduce the sugar mixture by half or leave it out altogether and just use peppermint extract to get the mint flavor. Otherwise, I loved the combination of flavors. The mini chocolate chips worked well with this recipe.

I am usually a big fan of Giada's recipes but I was not sold on this one. First of all, the orange juice overpowers the other ingredients in the sorbet and the finished product tastes too much like orange juice, not so much of pomegranate and mint. Second of all, the chocolate chips were a bit too much. I would omit them.

What is it with American desserts?? The level of sweetness is crazy, almost robotic. It would taste wonderful w/o the syrup. Hello, O.J. and Pom juice is very tart and sweet, perfect on its own! Sugar is the leading reason for so many health problems...keep that in mind food network!

I do not have an Ice cream maker. I just put it in the freezer, then every half hour just stirred it up. Worked great. Served next to a slice of Key Lime cheese cake and the combination of flavors was off the charts.

The directions here don't say that she made the simple syrup, cooled it slightly and then added the pomegranate juice and the orange juice directly to the ice cream maker. After that she added the strained mint infused simple syrup. In the last minute she added the chocolate chips and ran the ice cream maker just until the chips were incorporated. This is nicer because you really have one bowl and then the only other thing dirty was the ice cream maker!
