My husband and I weren't fans of salmon until we decided to give it another chance with your recipe. It was delicious! I made the marinade in the morning and let the salmon sit it in all day while we were at work. We paired this with some plain rice and put the sauce on top. Just wonderful! Thanks for another great recipe!

I cannot imagine serving the marinade, boiled or not, to a child. I wouldn't even take a chance myself.

I hope Mellisa writes a cook book. I would love to have all her recipes all in one place. Maybe laminated pages too.

I have never liked salmon, but when my wife prepared this, I told her that Melissa's recipe had converted me. We've watched every one of Melissa's programs since she won the contest and are planning to try several more based on our experience with this one.

I made this tonight for my extremely picky husband who does not like fish. We both thought it was absolutely delicious. He's sensitive to garlic and doesn't like very "fragrant" foods, so I only used one garlic clove and a bit less than half an onion. I marinated the salmon for 8 hours. It was so flavorful and moist. I served it with her Perfect Crispy Potatoes which were probably the best potatoes I've ever made. Thank you Melissa! You are very inspiring and I now look forward to seeing what you're going to share next. All the best to you, Orna.

the marinade has lemon juice in it. and salmon is safe to eat raw. if you keep them in a safe temp below 41 degrees the marinade is safe to cook. highly acidic foods is not an enviorment for germs to grow in... now in jamikas case she was talking about beef os pork ithat is unsafe.you just cant trust a marinade with meat.... i would try this recipe

I haven't made it either, but I think that by cooking the marinade in the second part of the recipe, the heat kills the germs. You can't serve the marinade as is, but the recipe says to cook/simmer for quite some time - reduced by half - so that should do the trick.

    Hi -

Recipe is awesome, I have a question about using the marinade as a sauce.

I also have the question about the marinade. I am wondering if it is because salmon can also be eaten raw if that makes a difference, or the fact it specificallly says to simmer and reduce slightly.
