YUM! A new fav! Very easy prep! I served the tomatoes and lettuce on the side, as well as the bread. I doubled everything so we would have leftovers. It was just as good or better the next day. The onion was a little too much for one of my guests who isn't a big onion lover, so next time I will serve the onion seperately.

I made this dip for the football game. We LOVE it! We did have it cold with some bread, then we heated it up. Then we cut open some Italian bread spead the dip on, baked it for 10 min. then added the lettuce and tomato servrd in slices.Any way we served it, Awesome! I have already passed along the recipe to 4 friends.

This recipe is excellent. Definitely a lot of chopping but worth it. I have also modified it to a pasta salad instead with the ingredients added in to taste. Excellent as a pasta salad. I have made this for cookouts and it got rave reviews.

Just finished making this to take to my office picnic this afternoon. I put it in a container to take to the picnic and what was left over in the bowl I sat here and devoured! Very tasty. I mixed the EVOO, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes and the mayo together to make a dressing, then incorporated it into the chopped ingredients. I also used 1/2 of a red onion and romaine lettuce (personal preferences I love it! Will post again to let you know what the folks from the office think. I predict a winner.

Oh wow... this was AMAZING. Took a while to get everything chopped up, but MAN was it good! I took it to a bonfire party, and it was a huge hit. Two suggestions: 1. Serve with sliced french bread and a spoon or knife for spreading- it's very hearty and not easily scooped with a torn piece of bread 2. Add the lettuce just before serving so it doesn't wilt. YUMM!!!

So tasty. Salami is good. Ham is good. Prosciutto is good. Roast turkey is good. All together is awesome!

I would also say, do not use a red onion ...white ones work much better.

I have been making this dip ever since it was published in Food Network magazine a few years back. What a hit! My only change to the recipe is that I use cappicola or hot ham and also add a few tablespoons of red wine vinegar to the mayonnaise mixture because I like vinegar & mayo on my subs. Super for an outdoor party or tailgate- just throw the bowl away (or eat it I just have a problem eating too much of it! Great job Mary Alice!

This was different and delicious! Guests loved it!

(BTW-Allison in Bayonne: The Review section is for those who have actually tried the recipe. Your statement "Why not just make a sandwich? It seems like it would be hard to "dip" bread into this and actually come out with anything", states that you obviously have not tried the recipe. Just a thought :
