Made for Superbowl & they were delicious. Took quite a bit of time to cut everything up & all the meat got to be pricey. I didn't add extra 1/2 water at end as there was plenty of liduid from meat & veggies in pan.

We did try at our tailgate and it was a smash. The prep was done all at home - it took me an hour to prep but I am not the speediest chopper. I put the indredients into a zip-lock bag and labeled them 'step 1, step 2" etc to prevent me to keep from messing up at the tailgate. I did halve the amount of cayenne pepper to allow those that are not spicy heat tolerant to partake, but brought along some tabasco sauce to make the others happy. It took about an hour for us to cook down. We used single sized sour dough sandwich rolls instead.

i first made this for the saints and colts superbowl, incredible sandwich. for the packer and steeler superbowl did it again actually better than i remember. normally superbowls in my house are foods from the towns of the teams playing. but this was so good we changed the rules to incorporate past superbowl successes. friends and family that were over for the game thought they were "oustanding" most awesome sandwich or slider on the food network!

While probably not the most healthy food, the bacon grease makes it pretty greasy, this sandwich is amazingly delicious. We cooked this up for the Vikings vs. Saints game to get a little taste of New Orleans. We used a loaf of french bread since the grocery store didn't have any sourdough that looked very good. Can't wait to make this recipe again just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

I made this for the Super Bowl and it was a huge hit. It does take some time but I did it ahead of time and just let everyone assemble their own sandwiches. I bought a sourdough loaf as there were no rolls and cut it in hoagie size pieces. The andoullie sausage was cajun style so I should have cut back on the cayenne pepper-it was a little spicy. Those who didn't want bread opted for it over rice-also good. Really a step up from chili!

We made this sandwitch for a local college football rivals game. Every one loved it, and we give it the full five stars, flavorful, hearty, cheesy, moist and delicious.

The only problem we had making this up was finding the sourdough bread in a one foot uncut loaf. We ended up using french bread instead, and it got a bit soggy (though it didn't slow anyone down, people just held it with the top down so they had the firm side in their hands. Tried a local bakery as well as three grocery stores for the sourdough, but no dice. Guess we better find a recipie for that now!

    Thanks Guy!
