Obviously this recipe was written to an expert (or well-seasoned (cooking pun, sorry audience. For most people who need reciepes (like me to start making something that they LOVE, this blows. I'll check ABs recipe, they are usually good. My first review below a 3 for this site. Disappointing guys...

This recipe is awful it lacked vital details. Making french onion soup is not hard, but following this recipe is hardly easy.

If you need the best, step by step instructions for Onion Soup, you will find all the techniques needed in Julia Childs' "Mastering the Art of French Cooking."
The recipe given here would give you the same results, but only if you know how to perform each step and why. Honestly, Julia's instructions allowed me to make the best soup ever!

Great stuff, but try alittle sherry in the onions as you cook them down.

I don't understand everyone's comment that there is no ingredient list. Read the recipe. This is very easy. I'm not a professional cook, by no means. About the only thing you might want to do is salt and pepper to taste. Otherwise, this was very easy to follow and very easy to make and very tastey.
